Following the successful business case prepared to support the Manor of Groves Hotel, Golf & Country Club’s application for expansion, Petersham Group was retained to prepare a similar business case for the Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Club, a sister hotel of the Manor of Groves.
Shendish Manor is located in Apsley, Hertfordshire, close to the M25 (junction 20) and the M11 (junction 8) and so is readily accesible from both central London and the northern home counties.
In this case, for the 70-room Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Club, the plan was to add a major new health spa, additional banqueting and function space and a further 30-bedrooms within the 160-acre estate to support and facilitate the further growth of its extensive banqueting, wedding, function and leisure business.
However, being situated in the green belt the planning application needed to make a compelling business case to demonstrate the commercial and economic need for the expansion.
The business case was duly compiled to support the application assisted by a series of supporting studies by planning, traffic, environmental and horticultural consultants.
